Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a respected leader in the fast-casual dining industry, widely recognized as the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. Founded in Glendale, California, in 1983, Panda Restaurant Group has grown exponentially, now operating close to 2,800 locations globally. The company is dedicated to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences through its commitment to quality, innovation, and its core family values. Emphasizing a culture that inspires its team members to better their lives, Panda Restaurant Group is proud of its inclusive and diverse workforce. The organization is grounded in the mission of positively impacting not only its team but also the communities where it operates.
The role of a Panda Cook within this vibrant company is central to its ongoing success. Serving as both a leader and a core team member within the kitchen, the Panda Cook is responsible for creating food with passion, providing service with heart, and contributing to an ambiance filled with pride. Working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, this role offers associates the unique chance to grow personally and professionally while supporting the company’s reputation for excellence.
As a Panda Cook, you will be entrusted with preparing dishes that meet strict company recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality that guests expect from Panda Restaurant Group. You will also play a vital leadership role within the kitchen team, guiding and assisting in the training of new Kitchen Team members while performing all back-of-house responsibilities efficiently. This position demands a motivated, adaptable individual who thrives under pressure and maintains accuracy and food safety throughout all duties.
Employment in this role is structured around the need to maintain a vibrant and welcoming environment for restaurant guests, making you a key player in creating memorable dining experiences. It involves not only culinary skill but also the ability to manage a dynamic and sometimes challenging kitchen setting. Candidates can expect an hourly pay range between $26 and $29, which varies by location and experience.
Panda Restaurant Group also fosters a supportive work environment through flexible schedules and extensive benefits, which include medical, vision, dental, and voluntary insurance options; retirement saving plans with company matching; and paid leave programs. Additionally, associates receive free meals during shifts, associate discounts, referral bonuses, and opportunities for career growth and leadership development.
The company maintains a strong commitment to equal employment opportunities and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), ensuring an accessible and fair hiring process. Employees will encounter physical working conditions that require standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in hot and noisy environments, all typical of a busy commercial kitchen.
This career opportunity is ideal for those seeking to work in a highly engaging, team-oriented environment where food passion meets professional growth. Panda Restaurant Group’s Panda Cook role offers a meaningful chance to be part of a respected brand with a heartfelt mission that extends from its kitchen to the community.
