The Cook role at Aramark is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and food preparation. As a Cook, you will be engaged in bringing recipes to life by working with fresh ingredients and state-of-the-art kitchen equipment. This position allows you to explore different cuisines, experiment with flavors, and refine various cooking techniques. The role is more than just preparing meals; it involves creativity, precision, and adherence to strict safety and food handling guidelines. You will be responsible for preparing ingredients accurately, using kitchen tools safely, operating cooking appliances, and presenting food that meets quality and visual standards.

You will work in a team-oriented environment where maintaining excellent customer service and a positive attitude is essential. Daily duties include setting up your workstation, measuring and preparing ingredients, cooking using multiple methods, garnishing and portioning food, and cleaning and sanitizing your area and equipment. This role may also require physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods. Uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) are part of the workplace safety protocols.

Job Requirements
- Experience as a cook or in a related role
- validated knowledge of food preparation principles and cooking methods
- understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
- ability to acquire food safety certification
- basic math and counting skills
- good interpersonal communication skills
- physical capability for lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and extended walking or standing
- willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE)
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- must be able to acquire food safety certification
- demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
- operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
- bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
- properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
- maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
- adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
- ensures security of company assets
