At the Parkview Behavioral Health Park Center location, Sodexo is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Cook to join their team in a full-time capacity, working overnight shifts with salaries ranging from $15 to $21 per hour.

The Cook role at Sodexo is integral to maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. This position is fast-paced and demands both accuracy and efficiency in preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items for multiple meal periods and events. The Cook works within established culinary standards and operating procedures to ensure that every dish served meets Sodexo's expectations for consistency and excellence. In addition to food preparation, the role requires maintaining a clean and organized workstation, adhering strictly to food safety regulations and sanitation protocols, and contributing positively to the kitchen team dynamic.

The responsibilities of the Cook include following recipes and product directions to create soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other dishes suitable for consumption in dining establishments. The role also involves tasting products to ensure quality, reading menus for preparation guidance, estimating food needs to balance production and supply accuracy, and undertaking physical activities such as walking or standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights as required by kitchen operations. This position requires someone who can manage repetitive motions and adapt to the physical demands of a culinary environment.

Candidates for this role will have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience and possess some foundational knowledge or experience in food preparation and kitchen equipment usage. The ability to follow both written and verbal instructions is crucial, as is being able to read and independently follow recipes. Although this is an entry-level to mid-level position, up to two years of related work experience is preferred. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations
  • Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs
  • Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Stand and walk for extended periods during shifts
  • Lift and move food and kitchen supplies, occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Perform repetitive motions as required in food preparation
  • Attend work punctually and maintain satisfactory regularity
  • Carry out other assigned duties as needed depending on business needs and client requirements
