The role available is a Cook position within the Food and Beverage department. This is an hourly, non-exempt position that supports the food and beverage operations by providing excellent service to customers attending events or visiting concession stands. The cook plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive customer experience by managing transactions, preparing, and serving food and beverages according to approved recipes and quality standards. Responsibilities include preparing a variety of food items such as fruits, vegetables, salads, dessert products, beef, poultry, and seafood proteins, as well as maintaining proper food safety practices including proper storage and handling of raw foods. The cook is expected to follow approved production guidelines, measure ingredients accurately, monitor food temperatures, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. This role demands energy, enthusiasm, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment with varying temperatures. Working on site, the cook is an essential contributor to the team, ensuring customers receive delicious food made to the highest standards while upholding hygiene and safety protocols. Job Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 6 months food service experience in a commercial or restaurant kitchen
  • Culinary school training preferred
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Proficiency in mathematics to assess dry and liquid weights and measurements
  • Ability to focus and pay strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in confined environment with hot and cold temperatures for prolonged periods
  • Ability to maintain proper grooming and dress code standards for the kitchen
  • Knowledge of foodservice health and safety standards

Job Duties

  • Follow and execute approved recipes adhering to SAVOR guidelines and production standards
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings during the preparation process
  • Wash, cut, and prepare fruits, vegetables, and salads
  • Prepare, bake, and decorate dessert food products
  • Prepare beef, poultry, and seafood proteins ensuring proper storage and handling of raw foods
  • Stir and monitor stocks, sauces, and dressings
  • Properly test food product temperatures
