Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency preferred
- ability to stand or walk for long periods
- ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- ability to hear, speak, and communicate effectively
- ability to tolerate significant temperature changes and frequent exposure to water and cleaning solutions
- ability to perform physical activities such as crawling, climbing, bending, kneeling, stooping, and balancing
- specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- regular attendance
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency preferred
- prior kitchen or culinary experience is advantageous
- ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- strong communication and teamwork skills
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- basic cooking skills including grilling and food preparation
- ability to follow recipes and portion controls
Job Duties
- Attend as scheduled and comply with policy and procedure
- maintain a gracious, pleasant, and friendly attitude while contributing to a teamwork-based environment
- uphold the Gyu Kaku dress and appearance policy
- follow all safety and sanitation guidelines
- ensure the highest quality preparation and presentation of food
- serve hot food hot and cold food cold
- grill, deep fry, bake, broil, steam, and microwave food
- measure and assemble ingredients and cooked items to recipe specifications
- portion food into individual and bulk packages
- wash and clean fruits and vegetables
- prepare re-cooks and special order requests
- complete cleaning responsibilities and station maintenance
- prepare food to avoid waste and spoilage, ensure quality, and maintain food safety
- set up, maintain, and break down the kitchen
- stock and restock items on the line
- maintain set-up, cleanliness, and organization of work area before, during, and after shifts
- wear slip-resistant shoes
