Lifespace Communities, headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa, and Dallas, Texas, ranks among the nation's largest nonprofit providers of senior living, boasting over 40 years of success. Serving more than 5,100 residents and employing over 4,500 team members nationwide, Lifespace is dedicated to creating vibrant, caring communities that foster meaningful relationships and personal growth for both residents and staff.
The role of Cook at Friendship Village of Bloomington invites individuals passionate about culinary arts and customer service to join a dynamic team where living one’s purpose, growing a career, and thriving through teamwork are highly encouraged. This role offers an hourly pay range of $18.68 to $25.63, providing a rewarding opportunity for those seeking meaningful work that directly impacts the well-being and satisfaction of senior residents.
As a Cook, you will be entrusted with preparing all food items according to menu specifications, ensuring that recipes are followed meticulously to deliver consistent quality. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment is also essential. Duties extend to cleaning cooking equipment and kitchen areas, ensuring all food preparation spaces meet hygiene standards. This role suits individuals with prior experience as a prep cook or in a similar culinary position, who possess certification in safe food handling and sanitation—credentials that ensure compliance with mandatory health guidelines.
