The role available at Keke's Breakfast Cafe is a Kitchen Cook position that offers a unique opportunity for individuals enthusiastic about culinary arts and food service. This position is primarily responsible for preparing a wide variety of food items using flat top grills, char-broilers, cook tops, waffle bakers, Panini presses, and fryers with a strong focus on maintaining high quality and consistent standards. The kitchen cook will take ownership of the quality of products prepared and served, ensuring every dish meets Keke's strict portion sizes, cooking methods, and presentation guidelines. Essential duties include stocking and maintaining food products at line stations to ensure smooth service, as well as maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment to provide a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.

This position requires a flexible, hardworking individual capable of working long standing periods during peak and off-peak hours with key responsibilities including assisting with food prep assignments and helping with opening and closing the kitchen per standardized procedures. The kitchen cook will also participate actively in routine cleaning and maintenance efforts, ensuring the kitchen remains in compliance with all health and safety regulations. Job Duties

  • Prepares a variety of food items utilizing flat top grills, char-broiler, cook top, waffle baker, Panini press and fryer
  • assumes responsibility for quality of products prepared and served
  • knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies and procedures
  • stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
  • maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including all cooking equipment and refrigeration equipment
  • follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
  • handles, stores, and rotates all products properly
  • assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
  • opens and closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations
  • assist others in closing the kitchen
  • assists in routine kitchen cleaning and maintenance
  • performs other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty
