- Previous experience in institutional cooking, healthcare, or food service preferred but not required
- Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and dietary guidelines accurately
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs

Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, dietary specifications, and resident preferences
- Assist with menu planning, recipe preparation, and portion control
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Accommodate residents' special dietary needs, allergies, and texture modifications as instructed by dietary staff or healthcare professionals
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including utensils, equipment, and food storage areas
- Collaborate with dietary team members to ensure timely and accurate meal service
- Monitor inventory, assist with ordering supplies, and minimize food waste
- Follow all safety and infection control protocols in food preparation and service
