Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • ability to obtain food safety certification
  • physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
  • willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
  • strong communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • validated knowledge of basic food preparation principles, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • set up workstation with needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling
  • safely use kitchen utensils including knives
  • operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
  • bake, roast, broil, steam, and use various cooking methods on foods
  • arrange, garnish, and portion food according to guidelines
  • properly store food following safety policies
  • clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor
  • adhere to safety policies and food safety and sanitation procedures
  • ensure security of company assets
