Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With close to 2,800 locations globally, Panda is recognized for delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences that combine high-quality food, inviting ambiance, and dedicated community service. Known for its strong family values and a mission to inspire positive change in the lives of its team members and communities, Panda Restaurant Group has built a reputation as a leader in the casual dining industry. It prides itself on fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment where every associate is valued and empowered to grow.

The role of a Cook at Panda is central to the success of each restaurant location. As a Panda Cook associate, you become a crucial leader within the kitchen team and contribute directly to delivering excellent guest experiences. This position requires a passionate, hardworking individual who is committed to preparing dishes that meet Panda's high standards of quality and presentation. The Cook is responsible not only for food preparation but also helps to create a vibrant and welcoming environment for guests, maintaining the ambiance that guests expect from Panda. It is a fast-paced role that blends creativity, precision, and teamwork. Candidates will assist with training new team members and guide the kitchen staff to uphold operational excellence.

Panda offers flexible schedules and competitive pay, making this an attractive opportunity for individuals seeking both part-time and full-time employment in a dynamic, growth-oriented work environment. Position responsibilities include all Back of House tasks, ensuring that recipes are followed accurately, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in compliance with local and municipal food safety regulations. The company provides hands-on paid training, ongoing career and leadership development opportunities, and a path for advancement into management positions. In addition, full-time associates have access to a comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, dental insurance, and various employee support programs.

Joining Panda as a Cook means being part of an organization that values diversity and equal opportunity. Equal Employment Opportunity is integral to Panda's culture, and the company complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by providing reasonable accommodations during the hiring process and employment. The physical demands of the job involve standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, working with kitchen equipment like Chinese cook knives, and performing tasks efficiently under hot and noisy conditions. Strong verbal communication skills, adaptability to a fast-changing environment, and conflict management abilities are essential for success in this role.

Panda believes its people are the recipe for success and offers numerous benefits such as associate discounts, referral bonuses, paid training, and time off benefits including vacation and sick leave. Each associate has the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the Panda community and enjoy a fulfilling career with the largest family-owned Asian dining group in America.
