Job Requirements
- Formal education sufficient to read, write and perform basic math
- Minimum one year of cooking and food preparation experience
- Ability to be active and on feet most of the day
- Ability to lift, push and pull medium weight objects
- Ability to occasionally move heavy weight objects
- Capacity to withstand hot, cold and humid working environments
- Compliance with food handling regulations
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centered food service care
- Sensitivity to diverse patient needs and dignity
- Meet physical demands of the job involving medium exertion levels
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Basic mathematical skills
- Prior cooking and food preparation experience of at least one year
- Knowledge of local, state and federal food handling regulations
- Ability to work with diverse patient populations with respect and dignity
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift medium to heavy weights
Job Duties
- Prepare food following standard recipes and safety protocols
- Cook food in bulk or individual portions as required
- Plate and serve food to patients and customers
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Monitor food quality and freshness
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet patient dietary needs
