Job Requirements

  • Formal education sufficient to read, write and perform basic math
  • Minimum one year of cooking and food preparation experience
  • Ability to be active and on feet most of the day
  • Ability to lift, push and pull medium weight objects
  • Ability to occasionally move heavy weight objects
  • Capacity to withstand hot, cold and humid working environments
  • Compliance with food handling regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centered food service care
  • Sensitivity to diverse patient needs and dignity
  • Meet physical demands of the job involving medium exertion levels

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Prior cooking and food preparation experience of at least one year
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal food handling regulations
  • Ability to work with diverse patient populations with respect and dignity
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift medium to heavy weights

Job Duties

  • Prepare food following standard recipes and safety protocols
  • Cook food in bulk or individual portions as required
  • Plate and serve food to patients and customers
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Monitor food quality and freshness
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Collaborate with team members to meet patient dietary needs
