  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • two years experience in food service field
  • valid ServSafe Food Handler certification
  • knowledge of institutional and school nutrition guidelines
  • experience in large scale meal preparation
  • full knowledge and practice of food safety, storage, and inspection requirements

Job Duties

  • prepare, cook, and serve daily meals
  • follow documentation requirements for food storage, inventory, temperatures, cleaning, sanitation, and food disposal
  • document and report discrepancies to supervisor
  • support and maintain a safe, congenial teamwork environment
  • observe kitchen and dining areas, utensils, supplies, and equipment to ensure sanitary standards
  • maintain accountability for knives and cutting tools
  • maintain clean, sanitary, and organized work areas and participate in daily general cleaning
  • model positive behavior and conflict resolution skills
  • promote a harassment-free environment
  • participate in department meetings and mandated training
  • utilize information systems and handle student data following policy guidelines
  • adhere to and model servant leadership culture values
