Sodexo prides itself on fostering an inclusive and supportive work culture where employees are valued as individuals, treated with respect, and encouraged to bring forward their unique ideas and perspectives. The company emphasizes belonging as a core value, aiming to build stronger teams through diversity and collaboration. Equal employment opportunities are a fundamental principle at Sodexo, ensuring fair and equitable treatment regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Employees are welcomed and supported to thrive in their roles, with opportunities for growth and development in a flexible working environment.

This full-time Cook position is based at West Virginia State University and offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $14 to $17 depending on experience. As a Cook with Sodexo, you will play a critical role in the culinary team, responsible for preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items for all meal periods and special events. Your duties will align with Sodexo's culinary standards of excellence to ensure food quality, presentation, and safety are uncompromised. Working in a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen environment, you will maintain a clean and organized workstation while supporting effective teamwork and upholding stringent food safety and sanitation protocols.

In this role, you will follow standardized recipes and product instructions to prepare soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other dishes with consistency and care. You'll be engaged in core kitchen activities such as tasting products, estimating food requirements, monitoring production, and maintaining accurate records to assist in inventory management. Physical stamina is essential as the position requires long periods of standing or walking, as well as the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Punctuality and reliability are also pivotal for succeeding in this position.

Sodexo offers an extensive benefits package that includes paid time off, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), tuition reimbursement, 401(k) plans, and employee discount programs. Some site-specific perks, such as free shift meals, uniforms, safety shoes, and transportation support, may also be available. Sodexo supports your career path with ongoing training and advancement opportunities in a flexible work environment that prioritizes work-life balance.

Joining Sodexo as a Cook means becoming part of a purpose-driven company dedicated to food service excellence and creating positive impacts in the communities they serve. This position not only provides a stable and rewarding employment opportunity but also a chance to develop professionally within a diverse and inclusive culture that values your contributions and individuality.
