Job Description

Aparium Hotel Group is a dynamic and innovative hospitality company that prides itself on delivering unique and memorable hotel experiences. Founded in 2011, Aparium brings a fresh perspective to the hotel industry by merging the professionalism of large-scale hospitality operations with the intimate charm of boutique hotels. Known for managing properties in smaller, bustling markets, Aparium emphasizes the importance of People, Place, and Character in every aspect of its operations. Their hotels celebrate local neighborhoods and communities, creating spaces where both guests and associates feel valued and inspired. They are recognized by Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards, highlighting their commitment to excellence and distinctive guest experiences. Aparium is deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and maintains a smoke-free, drug-free environment as an Equal Opportunity Employer. The company supports a culture where collaboration, open-mindedness, and mutual respect thrive, fostering an engaging and inclusive work atmosphere.

One of Aparium's flagship properties, The Populus, embodies the brand's ethos by offering a smart, sophisticated, and slightly rebellious social club experience. Populus aims to redefine what social clubs can be by embracing countercultural spirit, encouraging meaningful guest engagement, and creating a community space that connects people with inspiration and each other.

The Line Cook position at Aparium's Populus is a pivotal role within the culinary team, reporting directly to the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs. This role is classified as non-exempt, with a base hourly rate starting at $19.29 per hour, and catching a pay range between $22 to $35 per hour including tips. The Line Cook's primary responsibility is to develop and execute scratch-made dishes and recipes that meet the highest culinary standards. This role demands an individual who has honed fundamental culinary skills and exhibits a strong work ethic, task orientation, and the ability to collaborate closely with the culinary leadership team.

The successful candidate will actively contribute to a culture of high regard, trust, and transparency among kitchen peers and hotel associates alike. The environment is one where openness, humility, and respect replace ego, fostering shared success. The Line Cook is expected to uphold the company principles of People, Place, and Character while embodying values centered on collaboration, exceptional service, and a unique style of hospitality called translocal hospitality.

Key to this position is a commitment to delivering top-quality food that respects thoughtfully crafted recipes, presentation standards, and guest preferences. The Line Cook must maintain organized and respectful kitchen practices, handling ingredients and equipment with care, and demonstrating professional urgency without compromising technique.

This role provides ample opportunities for learning and professional growth through regular participation in feedback sessions, culinary team meetings, and communication with leadership. Additionally, the Line Cook is responsible for observing and reporting any substandard facility or equipment issues to ensure continual improvement in kitchen operations.

Working at Aparium involves adapting to a fast-paced environment, managing physical demands such as lifting and standing for extended periods, and collaborating across departments to ensure smooth service. The company embraces a no-tolerance policy towards outdated practices, promoting a workspace that values progressive culinary techniques and teamwork.

Overall, the Line Cook position at Aparium's Populus offers a unique opportunity for passionate culinary professionals eager to work in a supportive, engaging, and innovative hospitality setting. The company’s commitment to inclusion, respect, and employee development makes this an appealing career choice for those looking to flourish in a dynamic culinary environment.
