- Prior cooking experience in a healthcare or senior living setting preferred
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods

- Willingness to work flexible hours without late nights
- Compassion and patience when working with seniors
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a cook or similar role, ideally in healthcare or senior living
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to follow recipes, adjust portion sizes, and prepare meals for large groups
- Compassionate and caring attitude with a genuine desire to enhance the lives of seniors
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, organized environment
- Optional certification in food safety, culinary arts, or related field
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure kitchen and dining area cleanliness
- Prepare special meals for residents with dietary restrictions such as low-sodium, diabetic, vegetarian, or gluten-free options
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient meal preparation and a respectful work environment
- Monitor food inventory and supplies to ensure availability and freshness
