Job Description
Red Lobster is a well-established seafood restaurant chain renowned for its commitment to bringing coastal cuisine and a memorable dining experience to communities across the country. With over fifty years of history, the company began as a single family-owned restaurant with the vision of offering guests a unique connection to fresh seafood and the coastal lifestyle. Today, Red Lobster operates more than 500 locations, each embodying the same passion and dedication to quality, hospitality, and community engagement. The company prides itself not only on the food it serves but also on the welcoming atmosphere it creates where new friends become familiar faces, making every visit special for guests and employees alike.
Joining the Red Lobster team means becoming part of a family that values its workforce, offers competitive wages with weekly pay, and provides extensive benefits designed to support the wellbeing and growth of its employees. These benefits include flexible scheduling to accommodate various lifestyles, affordable medical, dental, and vision insurance options starting at less than $10 per week, and life insurance along with short-term disability and voluntary benefits. In addition, employees can participate in a 401(k) retirement savings plan featuring a company match after one year of service. Red Lobster also rewards its team members through anniversary pay and provides discounts on shift meals as well as a 25 percent discount when dining as a guest. Career advancement opportunities are plentiful, with training and development initiatives in place to help employees grow within the company.
The Cook role at Red Lobster is vital to maintaining the high standards the brand is known for. Cooks are responsible for preparing and cooking food according to recipes and portion control specifications, ensuring every meal served meets the company’s quality expectations. This role requires hands-on involvement in setting up and stocking prep and line stations, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen areas and equipment, inspecting food ingredients for freshness and quality, and assisting other kitchen staff during busy periods. Maintaining food safety standards and kitchen organization is essential to this position.
Physical stamina and teamwork are crucial since the job involves standing for extended periods, lifting up to 60 pounds safely, and the ability to bend, reach, and stoop. The ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment is necessary for success. While culinary experience is preferred, Red Lobster values individuals who exhibit a strong team player mentality and a dedication to upholding the company’s mission and values.
Red Lobster is proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all employees and applicants irrespective of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or veteran status. Current plans indicate significant growth and exciting new opportunities within the company, making this a prime time to join the Red Lobster family and contribute to its ongoing success in the restaurant industry.
