Job Description
Red Lobster is a well-known and respected family-oriented restaurant chain specializing in seafood cuisine. Founded over fifty years ago with the vision of connecting people to seafood and coastal flavors, Red Lobster has grown into a network of more than 500 restaurants. The company prides itself on being more than just a dining establishment — it is a vibrant part of the communities it serves, where guests and employees alike form lasting relationships. The brand is synonymous with quality seafood meals and memorable moments around the table. Each restaurant location goes to great lengths to uphold the founding passion of delivering exceptional food experiences and outstanding customer service.
Working at Red Lobster means joining a company committed to employee growth, well-being, and success. They offer competitive wages with weekly pay and flexible scheduling to accommodate different lifestyles and personal needs. Employees also have access to comprehensive benefits options, including medical, dental, and vision coverage starting at less than $10 per week, life insurance, short-term disability, and other voluntary benefits. Additionally, the company supports its employees' financial future with a 401(k) retirement savings plan that includes a company match after one year of service. Special perks such as anniversary pay, discounted shift meals, and a 25% discount when dining as a guest further enhance the employee experience.
The Cook role at Red Lobster is integral to maintaining the high standards of food quality and consistency the brand is known for. Cooks are responsible for setting up and stocking both prep and line stations, ensuring everything is ready for smooth operation. They maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils, while being vigilant about food safety and sanitation practices. Checking the quality and freshness of ingredients is crucial to delivering exceptional dishes. Cooks prep, season, and cook food according to specified recipes, quantity calls, and portion control systems, ensuring the final product meets Red Lobster’s standards every time.
The role also requires flexibility during busy periods, as Cooks may need to substitute for or assist other kitchen positions to help keep service running efficiently. Physical demands include the ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift up to 60 pounds safely, move throughout the restaurant, and remain standing for shifts typically lasting 8 to 12 hours. The ideal candidate is a team player who pays close attention to detail and can multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Red Lobster views the future with optimism and excitement as big plans are underway to expand and enhance their team and restaurant experience. Joining Red Lobster means becoming part of a family that values each member’s contribution and fosters a welcoming and inclusive workplace. They are proud to be an equal opportunity employer, embracing diversity and committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all individuals regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or veteran status.
