Job Description
Our senior living community is dedicated to providing compassionate care and enriching experiences for our residents, their families, and the broader community we serve. We are guided by the CAPLICO Core Values which emphasize Celebration, Accountability, Passion for Learning, Love One Another, Intelligent Risk Taking, Customer Second (Employee First), and Ownership. These values are not just words to us; they define how we operate, how we care, and how we interact with everyone in our community. Being part of our team means more than a job – it’s a commitment to creating a supportive and friendly environment that enhances the quality of life for seniors in our care.
We are currently seeking a skilled Cook to join our dedicated team of professionals. This is a vital role within our culinary department, tasked with ensuring efficient, timely, and courteous service to all residents and staff. The Cook will maintain the highest standards of sanitation and safety, preparing and presenting high-quality meals that meet the unique dietary needs of our residents. Working closely with the Food Service Director, the successful candidate will manage inventory by ordering, receiving, and rotating stock to maintain freshness and avoid waste.
The ideal candidate will have experience in short order and quantity cooking, be knowledgeable in food preparation techniques, and exhibit a passion for learning new culinary skills. This role requires attention to detail to guarantee recipe consistency and quality presentation while being adaptable to the dynamic environment of a senior living community. Effective communication skills, both oral and written, along with the ability to work harmoniously in a team setting, are essential for success. Additionally, the Cook must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, handle customer complaints professionally, and adhere strictly to all food safety and equipment safety procedures.
Beyond technical skills, this position demands reliability, punctuality, and self-motivation, with the capacity to work independently without constant supervision. Being knowledgeable about community quality standards and maintaining compliance are also critical components of this role. The successful candidate will play a key part in helping us meet or exceed resident dining expectations, contributing positively to their daily experience and overall satisfaction.
Employment with our senior living community is an equal opportunity opportunity, welcoming applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristics. Our employer, The Pennant Group, Inc., is a holding company of independent operating subsidiaries that provides healthcare services through home health, hospice agencies, and senior living communities across the United States. Each business operates independently with its own management and staff. More details about The Pennant Group, Inc. can be found at www.pennantgroup.com.
