Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in Glendale, California, in 1983, has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With nearly 2,800 locations around the world, Panda Restaurant Group is dedicated to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences to its customers. The company prides itself on building an organization where employees are inspired to better their lives, fostering a culture deeply rooted in family values and community impact. Their restaurants serve not only as dining venues but also as centers of connection and community engagement, reflecting the company’s commitment to excellence and inclusivity.

At Panda Restaurant Group, the culinary team is at the heart of the company’s operations. The role of a Panda Cook is integral, serving as a pivotal leader in the kitchen and a key contributor to creating an exceptional dining experience for every guest. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing delicious dishes with passion and precision, adhering closely to company recipes and standards. This position is not only about cooking but also about embodying the spirit of the brand through service with heart and pride in the ambiance created within the restaurant.

This opportunity places you in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment where your skills and dedication will directly influence the quality of service and customer satisfaction. You will support the creation of a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, guiding and assisting the kitchen team in training to ensure that all back-of-house duties are performed efficiently and effectively. The role demands a commitment to quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement, providing a solid foundation for career growth and leadership development within the company.

Panda Restaurant Group offers competitive pay ranging from $26 to $29 per hour, with individual compensation influenced by factors such as work location and experience. The company also emphasizes work-life balance with flexible schedules, free meals during shifts, and comprehensive benefits for full-time associates, including medical, vision, dental, and voluntary insurance options. Beyond financial rewards, Panda invests in its employees' professional growth through paid hands-on training, ongoing career and leadership development, and opportunities to advance into management positions.

The work environment is dynamic and sometimes physically demanding, requiring associates to work in hot and noisy kitchen settings, handle cooking equipment safely, and maintain high standards of accuracy and speed. This role also necessitates strong verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities while managing difficult situations effectively.

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The company commits to providing a workplace free of discrimination and supports accommodations for applicants and employees with disabilities to ensure an inclusive recruitment and employment process. If you are passionate about culinary excellence, enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and aspire to be part of a company that values its people and their growth, a career as a Panda Cook offers a fulfilling and rewarding path.
