Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With nearly 2,800 locations globally, Panda continues to deliver exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering an environment where people are inspired to better their lives. The company embraces strong family values and takes pride in not only impacting its team members but also the communities in which it operates. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and commitment to quality, Panda Restaurant Group is a renowned leader in the foodservice industry. As an equal opportunity employer, they uphold diversity and inclusion in the workplace, ensuring fair treatment and accommodation for all applicants and employees.
The role of a Panda Cook is central to the success and vibrant energy of each Panda restaurant. As a Cook, you become a key leader within the team, acting as the heart of the kitchen by preparing food with passion, delivering service with heart, and creating an ambiance with pride. This position offers an exciting opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment where dedication and teamwork are highly valued. You will be responsible for supporting a welcoming atmosphere for guests, preparing all dishes to meet Panda's established recipes and standards, guiding kitchen team members, assisting with their training, and managing all back-of-house responsibilities. This role demands a high level of attention to detail, the ability to work quickly and accurately, and a strong commitment to quality and food safety.
Panda Cooks must be able to work efficiently in an environment that can be hot, noisy, and fast-paced. The work involves standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching across countertops, and continuous use of kitchen equipment like the Chinese cook knife. Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt to dynamic situations and manage conflicts are essential. Panda Restaurant Group offers competitive pay ranging from $26 to $29 per hour, with individual pay determined by location and experience. Full-time associates are eligible for comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, 401K with company match, vacation and leave programs, and more. Flexible schedules and free meals while working foster a supportive work environment that encourages personal and professional growth with opportunities for advancement into management positions. Professional development, hands-on training, and referral bonuses underscore Panda's dedication to employee success and community involvement.
