Job Description
Tuscan Gardens of Palm Coast is a distinguished senior living community dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its residents by providing exceptional care and a supportive environment. Known for its commitment to wellbeing, Tuscan Gardens places a high emphasis on the overall health and happiness of its residents, making it an inviting and nurturing place to live. With a reputation as a certified Great Place to Work for eight consecutive years, the community values its employees just as much as its residents. This family-like atmosphere fosters professional growth, teamwork, and a shared passion for service excellence.
The role of a Community Cook at Tuscan Gardens of Palm Coast is pivotal to the community's mission. Reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Director, the Community Cook is responsible for preparing delicious and nutritious meals that align with dietary standards and the unique needs of senior residents. This position requires a balance of culinary skill, knowledge of health and safety regulations, and a compassionate approach to working with elderly individuals. The cook will not only prepare food but also maintain cleanliness, supervise other food service staff when necessary, and ensure that all meals adhere strictly to prescribed dietary requirements. Team members in this role will experience a supportive work environment that values dedication and attention to detail while offering competitive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, company-paid life insurance, voluntary disability options, paid time off, holidays, and a 401(k) retirement plan.
As a Community Cook, individuals will thrive in a workplace that prioritizes quality, safety, and respect for residents' rights. The position demands someone who can handle large quantities of food efficiently, guide and instruct others, and maintain a professional demeanor even in stressful situations. The cook must be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Food & Beverage Director and other team members. This role is more than meal preparation; it's about contributing to a vibrant community and helping to enhance the daily lives of seniors through excellent food service. Those passionate about culinary arts and senior care will find this an enriching opportunity to grow their career in a respected senior living community.
