We are currently looking for dedicated and dependable Food Preparation Workers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and appealing meals according to a weekly menu plan designed to meet the dietary needs of our senior residents. This position requires careful attention to recipe adaptation, portion control, and food presentation to not only satisfy budgetary constraints but also ensure the health and delight of those we serve. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining kitchen cleanliness and safety, managing food storage to prevent contamination, and assisting with food service operations.

This role demands teamwork, diligence, and commitment to following health and safety regulations, particularly those related to food handling and kitchen equipment operation. As part of your duties, you will engage with residents by encouraging participation in the food service programs and activities to promote a vibrant and interactive community life. The Food Preparation Worker will also act as a vigilant observer, reporting any concerns about residents' well-being to supervisors promptly.

Job Duties

  • Prepare food daily as outlined on the weekly menu plan
  • Alter or adapt recipes to accommodate special dining needs or to improve recipes
  • Ensure attractive presentation of food before serving
  • Maintain portion control to meet budgetary requirements
  • Identify food and supplies needed and report to supervisor
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe kitchen environment
  • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of food for infection control
