Timber Ridge at Talus is a premier senior living community located at the base of Cougar Mountain in Issaquah, Washington. Known as the East Seattle area's first Silver LEED-certified Life Plan Community, Timber Ridge at Talus offers a unique blend of luxury living, superior hospitality, and connection to the beautiful Pacific Northwest environment. The community is designed for well-traveled, outdoor-loving seniors who appreciate exceptional service alongside an all-inclusive lifestyle. Residents enjoy breathtaking views, social activities, hiking trails, and the opportunity to engage in a vibrant, active community.
As part of our Culinary Services team within the Food and Beverage Department, we are seeking an experienced Cook to support food preparation and service in our Health Center. This role offers a schedule between 7am-3:30pm or 11am-7:30pm with an hourly pay range of $21 to $26, depending on experience. The Cook position is pivotal to maintaining the high standards of culinary excellence our residents deserve. You will be preparing a variety of meals following standardized recipes and specific dietary requirements, ensuring our residents enjoy delicious, nutritious food that meets their health needs and preferences. This position offers an enriching work environment that fosters professional growth and team collaboration.
As a Cook at Timber Ridge at Talus, your responsibilities will include preparing soups, stocks, sauces, and various cooking methods such as boiling, braising, roasting, sautéing, frying, grilling, steaming, and baking. You will also manage food production timings to align with meal service hours, maintain food quality and safety standards, and coordinate food supply needs from storage. Attention to detail, good communication, and an understanding of nutrition and diet are critical to succeed in this role.
Timber Ridge at Talus is committed to the well-being of its employees by offering a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, and health savings and flexible spending accounts. Additional perks include an employee assistance program, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, pet insurance, employee discounts, free meals, underground parking, and complimentary Lyft rides to and from the Issaquah Transit Center if needed. Ongoing professional training and career advancement opportunities are also provided, emphasizing our dedication to your personal and career development.
Joining our team means being part of a supportive, fun, and engaging work environment where your contributions make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. If you are a motivated Cook with at least three years of experience in a similar setting such as a hotel, restaurant, or club, and you possess a strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation standards, we invite you to apply and bring your passion for culinary arts to our community.
