The role of Restaurant Cook is central to our kitchen's success. As a Restaurant Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to established company recipes and standards. You will ensure that every dish meets our high-quality benchmarks in taste, presentation, and temperature while adhering to portion control to minimize waste. This role requires close collaboration with other kitchen staff, including chefs, sous chefs, and prep cooks, to facilitate smooth and efficient food preparation and service. In addition to cooking duties, you will assist in training kitchen personnel, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and helping with inventory management to keep the kitchen well-stocked.

You will be expected to uphold strict food safety and sanitation practices, conduct routine safety inspections, and operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively. Flexibility is vital as the role demands the ability to handle multiple orders in a fast-paced environment, work during evenings, weekends, and holidays, and occasionally assist with front-of-house duties when necessary.   • Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role in a restaurant setting is preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Culinary training or certification is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy pots and pans
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food items according to company menu and recipes
  • Ensure all food items are cooked to appropriate temperature and quality standards
  • Adhere to portion control guidelines to minimize food wastage
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation
  • Keep the kitchen clean and always organized
  • Ensure that all equipment and utensils are in good working order
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and cooking
  • Assist in monitoring inventory levels and notify supervisors of low-stock items
  • Able to perform front-of-house duties as needed
  • Assist with training and guiding kitchen staff
  • Perform store walk-throughs and safety checklists and correct violations
  • Follow closing procedures to prepare kitchen for next shift
  • Communicate effectively to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Monitor and record food storage temperatures
  • Assist in cleaning and maintaining the kitchen after each shift
