Job Description
Legends Global is a prominent hospitality and events company specializing in providing exceptional banquet and catering services for a diverse range of large-scale events and private functions. With a reputation for excellence in the culinary and service industry, Legends Global prides itself on delivering high-quality food and impeccable service to exceed client expectations. The company operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, catering to high-volume banquet facilities and exclusive events that require meticulous planning and execution. Legends Global is committed to fostering inclusive hiring practices and values diversity, encouraging women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and protected veterans to apply. As a VEVRAA Federal Contractor, the company ensures equal employment opportunities and promotes an environment where every employee can thrive.
The Banquet Cook position at Legends Global is vital to the success of the banquet kitchen operations. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of all cooking techniques and specific experience in banquet cooking. The ideal candidate will have basic experience in Garde Manger and will work collaboratively alongside culinary staff in a full-service banquet kitchen. The position focuses heavily on the consistent production of high-quality menu items, effective communication between multiple cooking shifts, and strict adherence to health and safety regulations as governed by the Oklahoma State Department of Health and H.A.C.C.P. protocols.
The Banquet Cook will be responsible for ensuring that all food components are prepared timely and presented creatively and consistently. The cook needs to maintain par levels for inventory and supplies, guaranteeing that kitchen staff have what they need for each event without disruption. The role involves close coordination with the Lead Cook to manage all meal components and with supervisory culinary staff including the Sous Chef and Executive Chef for recipe clarifications and compliance with safety laws.
A significant part of the job is maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the kitchen during every shift, completing regular cleaning schedules, and consistently recording food production and waste. This ensures that the kitchen operates efficiently and meets the high standards expected in banquet catering. The job demands excellent organizational skills, flexibility to adapt to fast-paced conditions, and strong verbal communication skills to interact effectively with managers, guests, and fellow kitchen staff.
Candidates should be prepared to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by banquet schedules. Physical endurance is essential, as the role often requires standing for extended periods, frequent walking, bending, and the capacity to lift and move heavy objects safely. The work environment is characterized by the use of commercial kitchen equipment and exposure to potentially noisy events and fluctuating temperatures.
Though this position does not carry formal supervisory responsibilities, the Banquet Cook must exhibit basic supervisory skills, strong teamwork, and leadership qualities to maintain smooth kitchen operations. Commitment to excellent customer service and food quality underscores this role's importance within the overall banquet experience. This position is an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals seeking to expand their expertise in banquet cooking within a respected and growing hospitality company.
