Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a renowned American Chinese Restaurant concept that has been family-owned since its founding in 1983 in Glendale, California. Over the years, it has grown impressively to become the largest family-owned operation of its kind in the United States, boasting nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. This remarkable expansion reflects the company’s commitment to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences and its dedication to building a supportive organizational culture where employees are inspired to improve their lives. Panda Restaurant Group values community impact and embraces strong family values, making it a special place not only for its customers but also for its associates. This company is proud of its heritage and is deeply committed to diversity, equal opportunity, and accommodating all qualified applicants, ensuring a welcoming work environment for individuals from all backgrounds. As an equal opportunity employer, Panda Restaurant Group adheres strictly to federal, state, and local laws regarding workplace accommodations and prohibits any discrimination based on legally protected characteristics such as gender, race, religion, disability, age, and veteran status, among others.
The role of a Panda Cook is central to the operation of Panda’s vibrant and dynamic kitchen environment. As a Cook, you are a key leader in the kitchen who plays an essential part in crafting food with passion and dedication, providing service with a heartfelt approach, and contributing to creating a cheerful ambiance filled with pride. This position offers the opportunity to work within a fast-paced, growth-oriented restaurant environment where teamwork and efficiency are paramount. The cook’s responsibility includes preparing all dishes to meet exacting company recipes and standards, ensuring every meal served meets Panda’s quality expectations. Beyond food preparation, you will support and guide the kitchen team, contributing to training efforts to uphold the highest standards and consistency within the kitchen. The role demands a high level of adaptability and communication skills, as the environment is often hot, noisy, and restricted by space. Physically, the job requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and handling specialized kitchen equipment, including Chinese cook knives, all while maintaining accuracy and speed. On top of hands-on responsibilities, the position offers a chance to grow with the company, participate in ongoing career and leadership development programs, and benefit from a supportive workplace culture that recognizes and rewards hard work. The pay range for this role is approximately $19 to $22 per hour, influenced by location and experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being and success of the associates. If you are passionate about food, thrive in a collaborative team environment, and want to contribute to an organization with a proud legacy and future, the Panda Cook position is an excellent opportunity.
