Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda Restaurant Group is dedicated to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences to its customers. The company prides itself on its family values and mission to build an inspiring organization where employees have opportunities to better their lives. At the heart of Panda’s success are its dedicated team members who contribute to the company’s vibrant culture and community engagement. Panda Restaurant Group embraces diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to providing inclusive hiring practices and accommodations for qualified applicants under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The company fosters an environment where every team member’s contribution is valued, creating a respectful and dynamic workplace.
The role of a Panda Cook is integral to the kitchen team and the overall guest experience. As a cook, you will be a key leader responsible for preparing food with passion, serving customers with heart, and maintaining an inviting ambiance for all guests. This position involves working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment that is central to the company’s growth and customer satisfaction. The cook will perform all back-of-house duties, supporting kitchen operations while adhering to company recipes and quality standards. In this role, you will also help guide and train fellow kitchen team members, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $21 to $24, depending on location and experience, alongside opportunities for career advancement and leadership development.
Panda Cooks work in a challenging physical environment where kitchens are often hot, noisy, and require standing for extended periods. The ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and adapt to a dynamic setting is essential. Additionally, cooks must meet local or municipal food safety certification requirements at their own expense. Panda provides extensive training programs to ensure employees are fully prepared to succeed in their roles, coupled with a comprehensive benefits package for full-time associates. At Panda, you are not just joining a company—you are becoming part of a family dedicated to making a positive impact both inside and outside the restaurant walls.
