The Cook role at Chicken Express is a crucial position focused on the preparation and quality control of menu items within specific kitchen areas, principally handling meats. A Cook at Chicken Express must be able to read English menus to prepare food items prior to opening hours and maintain stock throughout the shift. Food quality is continuously monitored by visually checking items and discarding any that do not meet standards, with proper communication to management regarding discarded products. Maintaining cleanliness of assigned areas, including walk-ins and reach-in refrigerators, is essential, using provided cleaning supplies to keep everything clutter-free. Job Duties

  • Read English menus to accurately and quickly prepare menu items
  • Visually observe food and discard unfit items
  • Track and inform management of discarded food
  • Keep assigned area and storage clean and clutter free

  • Assist in prep area as needed
  • Discard, restock and maintain food items during closing
  • Transition next shift cook on current day’s progress
  • Complete cleaning and operational checklists
