The Cook position at HMSHost plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality and consistency of food prepared and served at their dining locations. This role involves preparing cooked foods and mastering all station functions including Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and cooking eggs. The cook is responsible for following detailed recipes and product directions to ensure that all food items are seasoned, cooked, and presented to meet the highest standards. Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • prepare cooked foods and perform all station functions of fry, flat top griddle, pantry, and cooking eggs
  • communicate ticket times and potential problems to manager on duty and servers
  • provide highest quality service to customers and associates
  • follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items
  • estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies
  • clean and sanitize work stations and equipment
  • practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices and comply with HACCP standards
  • operate variety of kitchen equipment and measure, mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables
  • stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of products
