Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a renowned leader in the American Chinese dining industry, founded in Glendale, California, in 1983. It has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, boasting nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. The company is passionately committed to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences to its customers by fostering an organizational culture rooted in family values, community impact, and personal growth. Panda Restaurant Group prides itself on building an inspiring work environment where employees are encouraged to better their lives through dedication and teamwork. The restaurants serve as the soul of the company, providing vibrant, welcoming spaces where guests can enjoy delicious meals prepared by passionate team members.
As a Cook at Panda Restaurant Group, you play an essential role in maintaining the high standards and vibrant atmosphere that define the brand. You will be at the heart of the kitchen, responsible for preparing a diverse menu of Asian-inspired dishes to established company recipes and quality standards. This fast-paced and growth-oriented position offers an excellent opportunity for career growth, including hands-on paid training and leadership development. As a Cook, you will support and inspire your kitchen team, assist with their training, and ensure smooth back-of-house operations, contributing directly to a positive guest experience. The role requires passion, precision, and a commitment to service with heart, as you help create an inviting ambiance that encourages guests to return.
In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team that values inclusivity and equal opportunity. The company is dedicated to providing reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), supporting individuals with disabilities throughout the application, hiring process, and employment. Panda Restaurant Group emphasizes a safe, respectful work environment and embraces diversity across all aspects of employment. With competitive pay ranging from $24 to $27 per hour depending on location and experience, this role also offers extensive benefits aimed at supporting employees’ health, well-being, and career progression.
The physical and mental demands of this position include standing for long periods, working in hot and noisy kitchen environments, handling food safely using specialized kitchen tools, and performing tasks quickly without sacrificing quality. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, reach across counters, and effectively communicate in a fast-changing work setting. Attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to adapt swiftly to shifting priorities are essential to success. This is a unique opportunity for someone looking to grow in the restaurant industry, develop culinary skills, and take on leadership responsibilities within one of America’s most loved dining brands.
