At the heart of its operations lies Primary Children's Hospital at Taylorsville, an esteemed pediatric healthcare facility known for its comprehensive care and innovative culinary services designed to cater to the specific nutritional needs of young patients. The hospital operates with a strong focus on quality, safety, and patient-centered approaches, making it an ideal environment for professionals who are passionate about health and nutrition in a medical setting.
This full-time position in Culinary Services at Primary Children’s Taylorsville involves playing a critical role in food production and preparation to support the hospital's diverse food service needs. Working Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, the role is designed to ensure the delivery of safe, tasty, and nutritious meals tailored to patients, staff, and visitors. The hourly pay rate ranges from $18.84 to $24.50, dependent upon experience, reflecting the organization's commitment to competitive compensation.
The role involves a variety of food production duties under general supervision, including preparing and cooking food, serving customers, managing floor stock, and assisting with room service meal prep. Additionally, employees will be responsible for stocking inventory, placing orders away efficiently, and preparing items for the cafe grab-and-go options, contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced culinary environment.
Employees in this position will have to demonstrate adherence to strict food safety protocols, good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize work effectively. The work environment requires physical stamina, as it involves standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and tolerating temperature extremes associated with cooking and refrigeration. The position occasionally requires holiday work and interactions with patients and customers, ensuring a compassionate and service-oriented approach.
Intermountain Health supports its caregivers with a comprehensive benefits package aimed at promoting wellness in mind, body, and spirit. This includes programs fostering physical and emotional health, financial security, and community engagement, contributing to a sustainable and healthy work life.
Overall, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to be part of a respected healthcare system, contributing directly to the nutritional well-being of pediatric patients while gaining valuable experience in commercial food production within a supportive and ethical workplace environment.
