Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a prominent leader in the restaurant industry, specializing in authentic American Chinese cuisine. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda has grown extensively to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With nearly 2,800 locations globally, the company has maintained its mission of delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences to customers while fostering an organizational culture grounded in family values and inspiration. The company is dedicated to the well-being and development of its employees and the communities it serves, emphasizing diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity for all its workforce.

The role of a Panda Cook is a vital leadership position within the kitchen team, serving as the heart of the culinary operations. This role is crucial for those who have a passion for cooking and a desire to provide excellent service and ambiance. As a Cook at Panda, you will embrace a fast-paced, growth-oriented restaurant environment where teamwork and dedication are valued. You'll be responsible for preparing all dishes in accordance with company recipes and quality standards, support the training and guidance of the kitchen team, and perform all essential back-of-house duties that contribute to a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.

This position offers a unique opportunity to be a part of a well-established yet dynamic organization where you can develop your culinary skills, learn valuable leadership techniques, and advance your career within a company committed to continuous growth and employee development. Panda offers flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits, making it an ideal workplace for those seeking a rewarding career in the food service industry. The company also provides hands-on paid training to ensure new hires are prepared for success, alongside ongoing career and leadership development opportunities. With a strong focus on safety and quality, employees must meet local food safety requirements such as Food Handler certification, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to standards and excellence.

Panda Restaurant Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone is welcomed and valued. The company complies fully with all federal, state, and local regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, and makes accommodations where necessary to ensure all applicants and employees can perform their roles effectively. Working conditions in the kitchen can be challenging due to heat, steam, restricted workspace, and the physical demands of the job, such as lifting heavy items and standing for long periods. The role requires adaptability, effective communication, conflict management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

By joining Panda, you become part of a company with a proud heritage and a strong, growing presence in the food service industry. You will gain valuable experience, benefit from excellent employee support programs, and contribute to preparing delicious food that delights guests and supports the success of the restaurant. This is more than just a cooking job; it is an opportunity to be a leader, a team player, and an essential part of the Panda family.
