Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in Glendale, California in 1983, is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With nearly 2,800 locations globally, Panda is dedicated to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences by building an organization where people are inspired to better their lives. Emphasizing family values, community involvement, and a strong commitment to team members, Panda has grown from a small restaurant into an influential global brand. This fast-paced and growth-oriented company believes that its people are the recipe for its continued success and fosters a vibrant, welcoming environment for both its guests and associates.

As a Panda Cook, you will play a vital role in the heartbeat of our kitchen operations. This position involves not just food preparation but leadership and mentorship within the team. You will be responsible for creating food with passion, delivering service with heart, and ensuring the overall ambiance and standards of the kitchen meet Panda's high expectations. The role is perfect for individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-paced environments while taking pride in their craft. You will support the kitchen team by guiding and assisting in their training, preparing all dishes to company recipes and standards, and performing a variety of back-of-house responsibilities.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in the culinary arts within a reputable and expanding company. It encourages teamwork, quality, and operational excellence while providing a pathway for growth into management positions. Panda values diversity and inclusion and maintains a work environment free from discrimination, supporting equal opportunities for all employees.

The hourly pay for this role ranges from $24.50 to $27.50, with the specific rate influenced by location and experience. Panda offers flexible schedules to accommodate work-life balance and invests in ongoing career and leadership development programs to help every associate succeed. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work efficiently in a kitchen environment which may be hot and noisy and demands standing for extended periods. The role also expects familiarity or willingness to acquire local municipal food safety certifications such as the Food Handler certification.

Being part of Panda means more than just a job; it’s about becoming part of a family-oriented company that values progress, community contribution, and individual growth. Whether you’re preparing dishes or leading a team, you are central to creating memorable dining experiences for guests while advancing your culinary career. We celebrate our strong tradition and look forward to welcoming motivated individuals who share our passion and dedication to excellence.
