Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese Restaurant concept in the United States. With close to 2,800 locations globally, Panda's mission is to deliver exceptional Asian dining experiences while building an organization where employees are inspired to better their lives. The company is renowned for its strong family values and community impact, making it a respected leader in the restaurant industry. Panda Restaurant Group embraces diversity and inclusion, providing equal employment opportunities and reasonable accommodations to ensure all candidates and employees can thrive. As a culture-focused and growing restaurant group, Panda offers numerous career paths and growth opportunities within its dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The role of a Panda Cook is essential to the success of each restaurant and the overall brand. Serving as a key team leader in the kitchen, Panda Cooks are responsible for passionately creating delicious food that meets the company’s high standards for quality and taste. This position entails much more than cooking; it involves guiding and supporting team members, maintaining kitchen operations, and helping foster a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Panda Cooks work collaboratively with their team to ensure that every dish prepared reflects the brand’s commitment to excellence. The job requires multitasking in a fast-moving setting, following recipes precisely, and upholding safety and sanitation standards. Additionally, Panda Cooks participate actively in training new team members and providing leadership in back-of-house duties.

Working as a Panda Cook offers an engaging and rewarding career path with flexible schedules and competitive pay ranging from $20 to $23 per hour, determined by factors such as location and experience. Panda invests in its associates by providing hands-on paid training, ongoing career development programs, and opportunities for advancement into management roles. Employees also benefit from a comprehensive package including medical, vision, dental insurance, voluntary short-term disability, cancer income protection, health care flexible spending accounts, 401K with company match, paid time off including vacation and sick leave, and associate discounts. Working for Panda means joining a team that values your contributions and supports both your professional growth and personal well-being in a socially responsible workplace. The kitchen environment is fast-paced and challenging but also offers a supportive culture where team members are encouraged to develop their skills and succeed in their careers.
