Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, stands as the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in America. With nearly 2,800 locations globally, the company has grown exponentially by delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering an organizational culture built on family values and community involvement. The company prides itself on being an employer that embraces diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, ensuring a supportive work environment for all associates regardless of their background or personal characteristics.
Panda Cook associates play a pivotal role within this dynamic and fast-paced company. They are considered important leaders who form the heart of the kitchen team, entrusted with creating food passionately, providing service with heart, and crafting the ambiance with pride. This role is central to the restaurant's mission to deliver high-quality food and superior dining experiences to every guest that walks through the door. As a cook at Panda, you take part in a vibrant and growth-oriented environment where your contributions directly impact the atmosphere and success of the restaurant.
The position offers an hourly pay range of $25 to $28, with pay determined by various factors including location and experience. This role encourages team members to support one another while focusing on adhering to company recipes and standards to prepare every dish accurately. In addition to food preparation, cooks assist with training and guiding the kitchen team, ensuring that all back-of-house responsibilities are completed efficiently and professionally.
The role requires working in environments that can be hot, noisy, and physically demanding. Cooks are expected to stand for extended periods, handle kitchen equipment safely and skillfully, and maintain focus under pressure. The company is committed to reasonable accommodations to support associates with disabilities or other needs, ensuring everyone can succeed in their roles.
For individuals looking for a career with ongoing training, leadership development, and opportunities for growth, Panda Restaurant Group offers a comprehensive package. The company not only promotes from within but also encourages associates to build long-term careers, including advancing into management positions. With flexible schedules and an emphasis on team spirit and community, this position represents more than just a job – it is an entry into a family-driven culture where people are inspired to better their lives and the lives of those around them.
