The role of a Cook at Aramark is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food and culinary creativity. As a Cook, you will be at the heart of the kitchen, responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes using fresh ingredients and state-of-the-art equipment. This position allows you to explore different cuisines, flavors, and cooking techniques while adhering to established recipes and production guidelines. You will be expected to perform essential cooking duties such as setting up your workstation with necessary ingredients and kitchen tools, preparing ingredients by measuring, chopping, mixing, and peeling, as well as using various cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming. The role emphasizes food safety and sanitation by enforcing proper storage, handling, and cleaning procedures to ensure a safe kitchen environment.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience as a cook or in a related role
- knowledge of food preparation principles and food safety regulations
- ability to obtain food safety certification
- physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and extended walking and standing
- willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
- good communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- validated knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations including accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- must be able to acquire food safety certification
- demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- demonstrate interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
Job Duties
- Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- safely use a variety of utensils including knives
- operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
- bake, roast, broil, steam using a variety of cooking methods
- arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
- properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
- maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor
- adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including food safety and sanitation
- ensure security of company assets
