Out West Restaurant Group takes pride in fostering a culture rooted in respect, camaraderie, and enthusiasm, where every employee, known as an "Outbacker," is valued and trained to perform at their best. The group is recognized not only for its exceptional service but also for its commitment to community involvement, including notable awards such as the Monitor 200 Award and the International Franchise Association's Franchisee of the Year in 2022. They actively support nonprofit organizations like California Care and CORE, which provide vital assistance to restaurant employees and their families during difficult times.
Joining the Out West Restaurant Group as a line cook offers an excellent opportunity to work in an engaging and supportive environment while developing culinary skills. This hourly, non-exempt role provides a competitive wage ranging from $16.90 to $20.00 per hour and does not include eligibility for tips. The position requires employees to prepare food items quickly and accurately from a diverse menu that demands both speed and precision to ensure high-quality customer experiences. The kitchen facilities are designed with large working areas and include various specialized line cook positions such as Salad, Fry, Sauté, Grill, Make Up, and Kitchen Prep Cooks. Outbackers in these roles are responsible not only for food preparation but also for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and proper sanitation standards in their work areas. Teamwork is an essential component of the role, supporting various restaurant areas as needed to meet business demands.
Employees benefit from a hospitable work culture that values hard work, effort, perseverance, and leadership. Flexible scheduling options and meal discounts are offered, alongside comprehensive health insurance plans that include medical, dental, and vision coverage for eligible employees. Paid sick leave and paid days off after 90 days of employment are also included. Out West Restaurant Group closes on Thanksgiving and Christmas to allow employees to spend quality time with their families. Additionally, growth opportunities abound, with a Shift Leader program providing extensive on-the-job training to support career advancement. The company is committed to fairness and equality, fully complying with the California Equal Pay Act and all applicable wage and hour laws, ensuring a supportive environment with reasonable accommodations for employees as needed.
This opportunity is perfect for individuals who are motivated to work in a fast-paced culinary environment, enjoy teamwork, and seek to build a rewarding career within a reputable hospitality group known for its strong community ties and employee-first philosophy.
