Job Description
We are a dynamic company dedicated to transforming senior living communities into vibrant, lively environments where compassion and innovation coexist beautifully. Our mission is to revolutionize the experience of elderhood by creating spaces that empower both residents and team members. We believe that senior living communities should be places full of life, energy, and respect for each individual. Through honoring the unique talents, knowledge, life experiences, and capabilities of our extraordinary team, we strive to create a culture that shines with purpose and positivity. Our community values diversity and inclusivity, understanding that every person's contribution enhances the environment and the quality of life for our residents. We take pride in being a forward-thinking organization that continuously supports our team members' growth and success while ensuring that every elder is treated with dignity and care.
As a Cook within our organization, you will play a vital role in achieving this vision. Your primary responsibility will be meal preparation and delivery in accordance with health department regulations, ensuring that every meal served is nutritious, appetizing, and visually appealing. Working under the guidance of the Dining Services Director, you will assist in food prep and maintain cleanliness in all work environments, always prioritizing safety and hygiene. Your work will directly contribute to the physical and social well-being of the elders by providing meals that not only nourish but also delight them.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about culinary arts and eager to make a positive difference in the lives of seniors. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a welcoming, friendly atmosphere by greeting elders, families, visitors, and team members, thus fostering a warm community spirit. The position offers a competitive pay range of $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, dependent on experience, with supportive benefits from day one, including paid vacation and sick leave accrual, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, and wellness programs.
In addition to meal preparation, you will help orient new team members and assist with scheduling, ensuring that the dining service runs smoothly and efficiently. You will also be responsible for maintaining equipment, keeping work areas orderly and safe, and adhering rigorously to infection control and foodborne illness prevention procedures. The role is well-suited for those who thrive in team environments and exhibit strong organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining excellence in service.
This position holds a special place in our company’s ecosystem because proper nutrition is essential to quality senior care. By preparing meals that reflect both dietary needs and taste preferences, you contribute to the overall happiness and health of our residents. If you are a culinary professional or someone with equivalent cooking experience who values teamwork, learning, and community, this role offers a fulfilling career path where you can truly make an impact every day.
