Job Description

Typhoon Texas Austin is a premier waterpark destination in Texas known for its thrilling water rides, engaging attractions, and vibrant atmosphere designed to provide memorable experiences for guests of all ages. The park emphasizes quality customer service, safety, cleanliness, and fun to ensure a welcoming environment where families and friends can create lasting memories. Typhoon Texas Austin offers a range of food and beverage options across various locations within the park, including popular spots like The Patio, Lone Star Fry Shack, Snackin' Wagon, Ray's Pizza, Ben's Soft Pretzels, multiple kiosk locations, and catering services for special events. This commitment to excellent guest experiences extends beyond rides and entertainment to include delicious and safely prepared food offerings that satisfy diverse tastes and dietary preferences.

The Food and Beverage Cook role at Typhoon Texas Austin is essential in delivering top-quality food and creating positive guest interactions. As a Food and Beverage Cook, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and assembling a variety of menu items across multiple park food locations. This position requires working with an array of kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, warmers, smokers, and ovens to ensure food is prepared safely, efficiently, and according to established guidelines. You will perform temperature checks and quality control measures to maintain the highest food safety standards, following all health department regulations and Typhoon Texas policies. This role demands careful attention to product freshness and inventory rotation principles including the FIFO method to minimize waste and uphold food quality.

In this role, you will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout your workstation, kitchen equipment, and storage areas, contributing to a sanitized and safe work environment. Tasks will include daily restocking, cleaning duties, dishwashing, and deep cleaning responsibilities as scheduled by departmental leadership. Additionally, you will operate various tools and equipment safely, including knives, pizza cutters, can openers, dollies, and pallet jacks, ensuring both personal and coworker safety.

Beyond cooking duties, the ideal candidate will embody Typhoon Texas’s core values of intentionality, Texas-friendliness, safety, cleanliness, and fun. Excellent customer service skills are paramount as Food and Beverage Cooks interact frequently with guests and team members across departments. You will work collaboratively with leadership to identify operational or equipment issues proactively, ensuring seamless food service operations within the dynamic park environment. Flexibility is crucial as you may be assigned different roles or locations within the park to support overall operational needs. If you thrive in fast-paced settings and have a passion for food preparation paired with a commitment to exceptional guest service, this role provides a rewarding opportunity to contribute to Typhoon Texas Austin’s ongoing success and reputation as a leading family entertainment destination.
