The West Melbourne location of Keke's Breakfast Cafe is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join their team. This full-time position requires the candidate to accurately and efficiently prepare and cook a variety of food items using equipment such as flat top grills, char-broilers, cook tops, waffle bakers, Panini presses, and fryers. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining consistency in portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards while ensuring that kitchen policies and procedures are strictly followed. The role also involves stocking and maintaining food product levels at line stations to assure smooth service during busy periods, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment, and following proper plate presentation and garnish setup.
Beyond cooking duties, the Cook will assist with food preparation during off-peak hours, help with opening and closing kitchen procedures according to established checklists, and participate in routine kitchen cleaning and maintenance. Teamwork is essential, as the Cook will support other team members and comply with directives from the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty. This position demands strong attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to upholding Keke's reputation for quality and service.
Candidates must be able to work standing for extended periods and communicate clearly in the predominant language(s) of the guests. Exceptional grooming habits are also required to maintain the professional image of the cafe. Availability from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm every day, including holidays, is mandatory, as is the willingness to consider Keke's as the primary place of employment. Employees are expected to adhere to dress code requirements, including wearing dark blue jeans, a black belt, and black non-slip shoes from the first day of work.

Job Duties
- Prepare a variety of food items using flat top grills, char-broiler, cook top, waffle baker, Panini press and fryer
- Assume responsibility for quality of products prepared and served
- Know and comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies and procedures
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including cooking and refrigeration equipment
- Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes
- Handle, store and rotate all products properly
- Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods
- Open and close the kitchen properly following the closing checklist
- Assist in routine kitchen cleaning and maintenance
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty
