Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a leading family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept headquartered in Glendale, California. Established in 1983, the company has grown exponentially to become the largest family-owned chain of its kind in the United States, with nearly 2,300 locations worldwide. Panda Restaurant Group is dedicated to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences, combining quality food, warm hospitality, and an inviting atmosphere. Its mission extends beyond dining as the organization strives to foster an environment where employees are inspired to improve their lives and contribute positively to the communities they serve. The company embodies strong family values and emphasizes a culture of inclusion, respect, and opportunity for all team members.
We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Panda Cook associates to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Cook at Panda, you will be at the heart of our kitchen operations, playing an essential role in creating delicious food with passion, delivering service with heart, and contributing to a vibrant ambiance with pride. This position offers a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment where your skills and enthusiasm will help build memorable dining experiences for our guests. You will be responsible for preparing menu items according to company recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish. In addition to cooking, you will guide and assist in the training of the kitchen team, support back-of-house responsibilities, and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who thrive in collaborative settings and are eager to grow their culinary and leadership skills.
The role requires adaptability, precision, and endurance due to the fast-moving kitchen environment and the physical demands involved. Our team members are expected to follow local food safety regulations, including obtaining necessary certifications like Food Handler permits at their own expense. Safety and efficiency are paramount as our cooks need to manage kitchen tools such as the Chinese cooking knife and other kitchen equipment with accuracy and speed. This role also emphasizes strong verbal communication and conflict management skills, enabling a positive and productive workplace.
Working at Panda not only connects you to a strong and supportive team but also provides competitive pay ranging from $19 to $22 per hour, determined by location and experience. We value our associates' wellbeing and growth, offering flexible schedules to accommodate diverse lifestyles and priorities. Full-time associates gain access to comprehensive benefits such as medical, vision, dental insurance, voluntary short-term disability, and cancer income protection plans. We also offer health care and dependent care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid time off including vacation, sick leave, bereavement, and a unique Leave Share Program.
Additional perks include free meals during work shifts, associate discounts across many brands, referral bonuses, and the chance to engage in community giving initiatives. We are committed to ongoing career and leadership development, supporting your advancement opportunities within the organization, including pathways into management roles. Panda Restaurant Group insists on maintaining an inclusive workplace adhering to equal employment opportunity principles and complies fully with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and provide reasonable accommodations during the hiring process.
