This opportunity is for the dynamic role of Cook, based in Dallas, TX. The position is offered on both part-time and full-time bases, catering to a flexible employment arrangement to suit various career needs and lifestyles. Starting pay ranges from $17.00 to $23.00 per hour, depending on experience, with weekly payment facilitated through direct deposit for employee convenience. The Cook will report directly to either the Chef or Chef Manager and will play an integral role in preparing and serving meals across breakfast, lunch, and catered events. This role requires proficiency in the safe and sanitary preparation of food, the operation of kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, coffee machines, steamers, mixers, and chef's knives. The Cook will represent both NEXDINE and its clients, and thus must exhibit excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior cooking or food preparation experience preferred
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment including oven stove dishwasher slicer coffee machine steamer mixer and chef's knives
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Good manual dexterity and auditory and visual skills
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Willingness to adhere to safety and sanitation protocols

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a cooking or food preparation role preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely including ovens stoves dishwashers slicers and mixers
  • Strong customer service skills and communication abilities
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas such as equipment and work surfaces to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating ovens broilers grills roasters and other equipment
  • Monitor freshness of food ingredients by checking quality rotating stock and following labeling and dating procedures
  • Cook and prepare foods verifying sufficient cooking through tasting smelling or using food thermometers
  • Prepare stations according to company guidelines
  • Bake roast broil and steam meats fish vegetables and other foods
  • Season weigh measure and mix ingredients following recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment
