As a Cook within this restaurant, you will play an essential role in food preparation and cooking, ensuring that every dish meets the company’s standards for taste, appearance, and safety. The role requires adherence to food safety and sanitation policies and involves operating a variety of cooking and food preparation stations such as dressers, swamps, grills, and more. This is a nonexempt position that reports directly to the Manager on Duty (MOD). The Cook is responsible not only for cooking and packaging food but also for maintaining cleanliness in all food preparation areas, handling waste disposal, and ensuring that equipment stays sanitized and in proper working condition.

The position demands regular attendance and the ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the restaurant’s operational hours and customer needs. Working in this role requires physical stamina, as it involves continuous standing, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting food items and supplies, sometimes weighing up to 50 pounds. Candidates must be prepared to work in a variety of conditions, including exposure to heat during cooking processes, colder environments in freezer areas, and variable temperatures dependent on weather conditions.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, basic math proficiency, and the ability to follow directions are crucial. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous cooking or food preparation experience preferred
  • Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, reach, stoop, stretch, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Effective communication skills

Job Duties

  • Cook, prepare, and package food product pursuant to operational and quality standards
  • Operate dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep stations as assigned
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • Perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying used grease
  • Maintain regular attendance
  • Report customer or employee complaints/issues to manager on duty
  • Move and stock food product weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or required
