The role of Cook at Twigs is a critical position responsible for supporting the culinary team by preparing high-quality food items efficiently and safely. Reporting to the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and Supervisors, the Cook must possess strong physical stamina and the ability to thrive in a high-energy, sometimes stressful kitchen environment. The Cook is expected to uphold the restaurant's rigorous standards of food quality, cleanliness, safety, and communication. This hourly, non-exempt position requires the ability to stand for extended periods and to lift up to 50 pounds regularly while demonstrating proper lifting techniques.
In this role, the Cook will assist in training team members on the safe use of kitchen equipment and food safety procedures, maintain their workstations in an orderly manner, and ensure that all foods are cooked, plated, and presented according to Twigs' specific guidelines. The Cook also plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment by adhering to sanitation standards mandated by the Regional Health District. Communication skills are essential, as the Cook must interact respectfully and effectively with team members and service staff to ensure quick problem resolution and seamless service flow. The position demands a calm and organized demeanor, especially during peak times, alongside strong multitasking capabilities and a dedication to teamwork.

Job Duties
- Follow all plating and presentations with appropriate garnishes and components
- arrange knives safely away from cutting board
- keep work area free of clutter
- gather utensils and equipment for station
- finish prep list from morning
- ensure fryer, broiler, griddle, salamander, oven, and steam table are on and at proper temperature
- complete dinner breakdown properly
- assist other areas as needed
- maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety standards during shift
- wipe down and sanitize work area
- turn off equipment at shift end
- ensure all food is properly covered and put away
- check with Chef or supervisor before leaving
- punch out in uniform daily
