Job Description
The hiring establishment is a hospitality business, likely a restaurant or similar food service venue, seeking a reliable and efficient Cook/Dishwasher to join their team. This position plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations within the kitchen and dining environment. The company values cleanliness, food quality, and safety, emphasizing a well-maintained and hygienic workspace that supports overall customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The employment type for this role is typically full-time or part-time, depending on the restaurant's scheduling needs. Compensation is generally hourly, reflecting the operational standards of the food service industry.
The Cook/Dishwasher position requires a dedicated individual who can handle dual responsibilities. On one hand, the cook is tasked with preparing food according to specific recipes and quality standards, ensuring that every dish served meets the expectations of customers and management. On the other hand, the dishwasher component involves maintaining the cleanliness of all dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils, along with general cleaning duties in public areas of the facility. This role demands attention to detail, stamina, and the ability to work efficiently under supervision, specifically daily coordination with the General Manager. The employee must maintain an orderly kitchen environment, keep the floors dry and free of debris to uphold safety standards, and diligently manage station supplies.
This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in food preparation and kitchen maintenance in a dynamic setting. The Cook/Dishwasher will prepare dough and other food products in advance, setting up their workstation and keeping it stocked throughout shifts. Responsibilities also include disposing of trash and ensuring the cleanliness of both kitchen and public spaces. This blend of food preparation and sanitation duties makes the role integral to the smooth running of the kitchen and overall guest experience. Candidates who thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented environments and possess a commitment to quality and safety will find this position rewarding and enriching. This job description aims to provide a thorough understanding of what is expected, detailing both the culinary and cleanliness standards needed to excel in this dual-role position.
