The Cook position at Aramark's BSWH Grapevine location is a vital role within the company’s culinary team, offering an exciting opportunity for those passionate about food and cooking. This role requires morning and mid-day shifts, specifically from 6:00am to 2:00pm or 11:00am to 8:00pm, providing flexibility for candidates with different scheduling needs. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of food items according to standardized recipes and production guidelines, ensuring quality, safety, and creativity come together to deliver delightful dining experiences.

This position goes beyond basic food preparation; it encourages culinary creativity and exploration of different cooking methods and cuisines while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. Working with fresh ingredients and utilizing the best kitchen equipment, you will bake, roast, broil, steam, and employ a wide range of cooking techniques to bring diverse dishes to life. The role also includes setting up workstations, measuring and preparing ingredients accurately, and properly storing food following safety policies.

Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation and food safety regulations
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets
