Job Description
Cracker Barrel is a renowned American restaurant chain established in 1969, known for its unique blend of Southern hospitality, comfort food, and charming country store merchandise. With over 70,000 team members nationwide, Cracker Barrel is much more than just a place to eat – it's a community where guests can gather to enjoy delicious meals, abundant servings, and the warmth of a welcoming atmosphere. The company takes immense pride in its roots and commitment to serving up more than a meal, fostering an environment where both guests and employees feel valued and at home. Cracker Barrel offers a distinctive dining experience that combines traditional Southern flavors with a cozy ambiance, making it a beloved destination across the United States.
The role of a Cook at Cracker Barrel is integral to the dining experience and presents an exciting opportunity to be a part of this historic establishment. As a Cook, you will play a central role in the kitchen, preparing ingredients, cooking meals, and plating comfort food that resonates with the essence of home-cooked goodness. Whether you are making pancakes for breakfast or crafting a signature dish for dinner, every shift is a chance to showcase your heart, hustle, and teamwork skills in a fast-paced, enjoyable environment.
Cracker Barrel values candidates who take pride in their work and thrive in a collaborative team setting. The company welcomes individuals who learn quickly, maintain focus, handle multiple tasks efficiently, and bring a positive attitude to the workplace. Prior restaurant experience is not required because the company offers comprehensive training to ensure your success from day one. This training includes their industry-leading Performance, Achievement, and Recognition (PAR) program, designed to help employees grow and thrive within the organization.
Working at Cracker Barrel means more than just having a job – it is about joining a culture that supports you beyond the clock. Employees enjoy competitive pay every week, access to same-day pay, and health insurance eligibility starting on the very first day of employment for both full-time and part-time team members. In addition to vacation time and an Employee Assistance Program, Cracker Barrel offers a supportive culture that starts with onboarding and continues with programs designed to foster development and recognize achievements.
Employees also benefit from a 401k plan with company matching contributions beginning after 90 days and an Employee Stock Purchase Program. Beyond financial and health benefits, Cracker Barrel values a sense of belonging by hosting recognition programs and events that bring team members together. Additional perks include a 35% discount on Cracker Barrel food and retail items as well as exclusive discounts on home, travel, cell phones, and more through the unique Biscuit Perks program.
In summary, Cracker Barrel provides a welcoming and stable environment where your work truly matters. By joining as a Cook, you become part of a team that delivers more than just meals – you help create memorable moments for guests while growing your career with excellent compensation and benefits.
