The position available is a Full-Time Food Preparation Associate at the Courtyard by Marriott San Antonio Riverwalk. This is a non-management role within the Food and Beverage and Culinary category, focused on supporting kitchen operations to ensure the efficient and high-quality preparation of food items served to guests. The role involves preparing ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, and peeling fresh produce; measuring and mixing components accurately; and cooking food according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. The associate will handle various kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers and must test and monitor the food to determine readiness and maintain top quality throughout the preparation process. Cleanliness and sanitation are critical responsibilities, entailing the washing and disinfecting of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment, along with ensuring proper temperature controls for food safety. This position requires adherence to all safety protocols and company policies, including reporting maintenance issues or unsafe conditions, completing mandatory safety training, and maintaining a professional and clean personal appearance. The Food Preparation Associate will work collaboratively with the kitchen and service team, supporting common goals and responding appropriately to concerns raised by coworkers.
