Job Requirements
- Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- At least 1 year of closely related cooking experience
- Knowledge of food pertaining to soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policies
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform job functions
- Frequent immersion of hands in water and chemical solutions
- Frequent work with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
- Frequent work in hot environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of related cooking experience
- Knowledge of food preparation including soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry
- Ability to understand and follow instructions and policy documents
- Strong communication skills for customer interaction
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, and twist for extended periods
- Experience working in a high-volume, casual dining environment preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare cooked foods following recipes and product directions
- Season, cook, taste, carve and serve various food items including soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts
- Communicate ticket times and potential issues to management and servers
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitization of work stations and equipment
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation practices in compliance with HACCP standards
- Operate kitchen equipment and perform food preparation tasks such as measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding
- Stock, date, rotate and check temperature of food products
