Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of culinary experience or relevant skills
  • Culinary arts certification or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety standards
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office and internet
  • Physical ability to stand and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Ability to follow safety and hygiene protocols
  • Willingness to work full-time onsite at Gainesville, FL
  • Ability to collaborate with team and maintain professional conduct

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Specialty or advanced certification in culinary arts or equivalent experience
  • Skills in staff relations, customer service, and safety standards
  • Ability to operate computers including web browsing, email, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to speak and read English
  • Physical capability to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for long periods, and handle tools
  • Ability to use discretion and independent judgement in responsibilities

Job Duties

  • Check and store food and supplies delivered to the facility and remit purchase receipts to supervisor
  • Collaborate with supervisor to maintain an orderly kitchen environment
  • Ensure kitchen is clean, sanitary, and free from hazards daily
  • Prohibit residents from loitering in the kitchen
  • Manage supplies, leftovers, and pantry stock
  • Empty trash receptacles daily
  • Report maintenance needs and recommend improvements
  • Maintain kitchen safety, security, and emergency support according to ordinances and food safety best practices
  • Notify supervisor promptly of maintenance problems or unsafe conditions
  • Observe kitchen and chapter rules
  • Report accidents or injuries immediately
  • Reconcile and report kitchen expenditures within budget
  • Follow expense approval and reporting processes
  • Plan and manage kitchen staff work schedules
  • Submit payroll hours through online system
  • Abstain from alcohol or drugs on chapter territory
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions
  • Support chapter priorities and maintain vendor relationships
  • Maintain professional relationships with chapter members, employees, and volunteers
